House Calls / Mobile Vet
*** Please note: We are again offering our Home Vet service, but availability will be on a very limited basis. Clients requesting appointments will be pre-screened to ensure Covid-19 safety measures are met before scheduling an appointment. ***
Is your pet in need of medical care, but you are unable to bring them to us? Let us know! Dr. Gurevich can conduct mobile vet house calls for any pets that are unable to travel to our hospitals in Algonquin, Dundee, or Elgin, along with cats that are difficult to handle outside of the home. For house calls, we need at least 24 hours' notice; same-day appointments are not available. We are happy to provide this service because every pet parent should be able to receive essential care for their loved one.
Offering mobile vet care to our patients is important because we recognize that each pet has different needs. Some pets become very anxious and hard to handle when they visit their veterinarian, which can interfere with their treatments. Being treated at home in a comfortable, quiet environment can make all the difference. We also respect the fact that traveling may not be possible for your pet due to an ongoing health condition or injury.
Services We Can Provide
While we cannot bring all of our hospital equipment into your home, we can provide these services:
- Wellness exams
- Vaccinations
- Heartworm tests
- Nail trims
- Ear cleanings
- Blood draws
- In-home euthanasia
In-Home Euthanasia
Saying goodbye to your pet is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. Many clients request home euthanasia because it allows their pets to spend their final moments in a peaceful, familiar environment. Your pet always deserves to feel comfortable and relaxed, especially during this time. If you have concerns about your pet's condition and suspect that euthanasia might be the next step, simply reach out to us and we'll do everything we can to help.
Preparing for a House Call
Once we have helped you set a date for your mobile vet appointment, be sure to plan accordingly. Avoid overlapping schedules and prepare a clean, well-lit space in your house on the day of our visit. We will call you when we are on our way to your home.
