Dr. Melissa Bachleda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. While earning her DVM degree, Dr. Bachleda worked for almost two years as a Team Leader for the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic and as a veterinary assistant at Fox Valley Helping Paws Animal Welfare Association.
There, she managed and implemented daily treatment plans and vaccination schedules, prepared patients for surgery, monitored patients under anesthesia, performed various diagnostic tests, completed physical exams, and administered medications.
In her free time, Dr. Bachleda enjoys hobbies including cooking, online gaming and playing tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons. She has a male guinea pig and cat. She’s also an amateur history buff (specifically Medieval European history), but also enjoys learning about prehistorical archaeology and many other periods.
